Episode 1: Auditions

The University of Hawaii Rainbow Warrior Dancers (UHRWD) held auditions Sunday, April 28th at the Manoa Campus' Athletic Complex. Check out the full video recap.

UHRWD members can move on to professional dance careers. Cara Horibe is a fine example that has now come full circle after being named the new Head Coach. Some of Cara's professional experience includes work with Avril Lavigne, Nicki Minaj, Janet Jackson, and also MTV's ABDC with Fanny Pak. Since moving back to the islands she has been giving back to the dance community that built the foundation for her success. We look forward to seeing what she brings to the North End Zone of Aloha Stadium and the Stan Sheriff Basketball Court.

Did you know UHRWD is not associated with the UH Athletic Department for funding, but are instead connected with the UH Band? Each year the dancers must fundraise to be able to support our basketball teams in the Big West Tournament. Our partnership with UHRWD allows us to connect the community and businesses through media. We look to provide these student athletes/artists with more time to study and hone their craft rather than spending time fundraising. We also get to provide valuable experience for any students interested in photography/videography.
