12U Positive Coaching Award

Champions League Hawaii Finals were held Saturday, June 1st at Kalaheo High School. CLHI is an Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) sanctioned league that is open to all club volleyball teams in Hawaii. Seeding is determined at the start of the season by the Transpacific Volleyball Championships.

Some of the benefits of Champions League Hawaii are:

Having a Set Schedule

Playing teams your skill level

Exciting Format Match Play (Best of 5 in playoffs)

Play for a Championship AAU Sanctioned League

The league is also a great way for teams to prepare for summer travel to national tournaments. Scores found on their website show that most of the matches are determined in 5 sets. Our goal at this year's finals was to try to capture the competitiveness of the league, but we stumbled onto something much more special.

In a pre-match interview the Lanikai Athletic Club 12U team echoed Positive Coaching Alliance techniques showing the impact the program has on them. These young athletes demonstrated a great example of PCA's ELM model and went on to win the Division I Championship in 5.

A special congratulations to Coach Tina and Coach Billy for instilling positive values into our future leaders and taking the ship.
